Is This a Dream
Trancelike I wander in a dreamlike world.
Colors surround me – shadowy and swirled.
How did I get here? I feel so unreal.
Is this a dream or life hazy and surreal?
I pinch myself, but I cannot awake.
My hands once steady now begin to shake.
I feel I have gone to another plane -
another dimension. Am I born again?
Did I die somehow, perhaps in my sleep?
Am I here alone? I begin to weep.
But someone is coming! Their face I can’t see.
A ghost? A person imaginary?
Shadows’ hues that had been surrounding me
have become ethereal imagery.
Colors more lovely than I’ve ever seen
glow brightly like grass that’s greener than green.
Indescribable are all of the hues -
the reds and purples, the yellows and blues!
My brother Dale who died thirty-five years ago
is he who approaches! Where I am – I now know!
