Is It Just a Myth

My heart was created to love and to be loved However in this tango with you my heart aches Why have you caused me so much pain? Is love supposed to hurt? Or be manipulative? I thought you were my soulmate and us meeting was somehow fate. Love to me is now a myth, It's only just make believe. I was a damsel in distress waiting for my Prince. You should have passed me by. How can I believe in love when love has died. * Fictional write about someone who has given up on love. 4-25-19 Alexis Y.

Sometimes you throw sadness someone's way, and he responds with a bit of hilarity. To wit, I was reading this out loud, and somehow I adopted a Bridgeport/Mayor Daley South Chicago accent for this line: 'I was a damsel in dis dress' Can you just picture it? It's an Irishman's South Side of Chicago accent, where 'th' becomes 'd,' as in dis, dat, dese, and dose... LOL. :) gw

This poem tugged at my heart strings - a sad write - you should have passed me by - tears came to my eyes Alexis. A very well penned poem. Hugs, Jenny.
