Iron Smiles
The highest sun
The palest moon
They make my day; my agenda
And how the night will end
Fear not, for we are ancient
From the womb to the tomb
We see the sun rise and set
The moon bright each night
The same for millions of years
Infinite laughter, sorrow and tears
Will you come down
From the mountain side
She comes down
With an iron smile
Pay for prayer
Cash gets you in
Live a little more
And pay for sin
The soft fresh morning
The warmth of the sun
Today's activities have been set
Mindful and rueful rules
Fear not, for we have lived this before
The cradle to the coffin
From the ceiling to the floor
Today is saddled in sorrow
Day after day after day after day
After may be filled with laughter
The day after tomorrow
