Inspiration
As I attempt to pen my views
on life and all it brings,
I look to an enabling muse
that whispers, shouts, or sings.
I'm captured by a butterfly,
a playful cat, a bird;
inspired by gale or soft wind's sigh,
a poignant song I heard.
Extremes of happiness and woe,
of failure and success
demand that fitting phrases flow,
describing peace or stress.
The prompts for contests on this site
have energized my muse,
thus urging me each day to write
about my heartfelt views.
