For I alone, navigate these candlelit plains For I alone, cross blades with an all-consuming black For I alone, sense the haunting sensation, shadows on my back Wandering, an endless night

oh ow I can relate - have had sleep issues since my hubby had cancer surgery - thankfully I discovered poetry writing! I see the all consuming blackness to daybreak ... would rather be in the land of dreams though:-( hugs Jan xx

"For I alone, sense the haunting sensation, shadows on my back" I totally get that as an insomniac... that first line is also quite unique..I love the imagery of "candlelit plains"...the consuming blackness... very interesting. I am really enjoying your work! Always, Laura

Indeed.. I can guarantee that most poets stare wide eyed at the ceiling most nights.. as the words pound through their brains. Awesome depiction of a common plight ~~X~~

Many thanks for sharing Dalia, I appreciate the support. Admittedly this was more-so a tributary piece on behalf of those who connect with to the title. Mostly, I'm ok (so, apologies for perhaps implying otherwise :) ).
