I feel I'm on a razor's edge twixt madness and sanity, disturbed derangement, orderly rationality, alternating my being, a multiple personality stance not willingly on my part. Why must we have war on a lovely planet> The horrible fear is that I prefer the dark moments when cruelty surfaces in my alter ego, when an invariant being is hell-bent on destruction. Then my razor blade flashes in the dim lights of dark allies, blood sprouts from some jugular veins, forming a red oozy river that covers the smell of the godforsaken place.’ War is so dreadful. Then do I become sane and cry in pain for the victims’ deaths. Placed 1

Many argue that war is a deeply inhumane and destabilizing force, causing individuals to lose their sanity and live in perpetual fear, while also disrupting the balance of our precious planet. The atrocities of war undoubtedly lead to dread and madness. These profound ideas warrant careful consideration. However, it is important to acknowledge that war has also been a catalyst for progress and innovation throughout history, as evidenced by the remarkable inventions that have emerged in its aftermath.

Chaos and layers of crimes can be used to humiliate, intimidate and punish. Victims are primarily women and girls, Victor. "Spoils of war"--Now Russians against Russians! It never ends. The aftermath is devastating inside and out. A poem that needs to be read by all!

War is inhuman, drives away sanity, plunges one into eternal fear and shakes the equillibrium of our beautiful planet. The horrors of war drives a man to dread and insanity ! Grear thoughts for reflection, Victor

The horror of war is something that rational minds must strive to eliminate through peaceful negotiations. Your brilliant poem is powerful, as are the picture and the quote. Hope your day is nice. :)

Unfortunately someone has to do the fighting Victor, otherwise we’d all be in chains, I totally get the duality in your poem, makes one wonder how these guys are expected to switch off and on, PTSD is absolutely rampant in soldiers returning from war, excellently written and unflinching, cheers David

To think of men loving war is a sad affair…sad to have to kill at all. Most of us hope never to do so. Good write, my friend!

Wonderful write on how the solider would feel among the gruesome actions. So, heartbreaking for not only the solider , but the family at home worried to death.

- There is no sense in war - The war between Ukraine and Russia should never have started... most understood what would come from Russia's "powerful men"... but no one was brave enough to stop it - An excellet write, Victor - Best wishes in the contest :) - hugs

War does gruesome things to human minds-- and men become hunters. Sad but true in this world dedicated to wars.
