Innocence
I miss our innocence
I miss the way we were
our youthful memories
that you don't even remember
I turn to you still beside me
but a needle tears us a mile away
and I wonder
what went wrong
where has youth and freedom gone
we had dreams in stars, ambitions
tell me what went wrong
when I think about time
how it has eaten you from inside
you decay in moments you waste
that I'd do anything to pull it back
to relive and rewind
maybe we all feel the same
looking backwards at things we can not change
looking forwards and only seeing pain
then nothing matters
nothing matters
I want to tell you how I'm lost
that I'm reaching for you in this fog
that I need you more than I could ever show
But I turn to meet your eyes
And I crumble under their ice
nothing's funny
nothing hurts anymore
nothing exists for us
tell me what went wrong
if my screams could reach you
for just a second of your time
just to take a moment
just to make it mine
