Inner Child Redemption
This little girl,
once innocent, a creator and vibrant
Where did she go?
Did she get lost in all that sorrow ?
Oh forgotten one.
Is it not time to remember?
Her pain you need to feel.
Hold her close - she needs you in order to heal.
She cringed before the collective.
Bowed her head in shame.
Is this maybe why she forgot her true names?
“Put down the paint brush, sit still and be silent.
Everything you create will be laughable
So is it even worth trying ?”
Rather pick up the bottle,
Abuse your own temple,
Spend 8 years dazed,
“Just one more pill - maybe then you’ll feel exalted”
Soul starved and ravenous
Can you not hear her screaming?
The gilded cage could be opened
But you choose to hold her captive regardless.
you know her grief was strong,
you know she was exiled, lonely and angry,
you know that you wish you could have protected and loved her fearlessly
Though you couldn’t do so then
It is your duty to do so now
Show her utter love and forgiveness
Deep in your soul you know how.
Welcome her back into your heart
it is there that she belongs
And with her here once again
You will unapologetically sing your souls song
