In the Stillness of Time
a sliver of hope hangs
on the valance
of darkness
cast off
from frosted glass
of dimly lit
street lamps glow
a shadow stands
alone
awaiting
on stars
to glisten
through love's eyes
if he were to come
this very night
the willow
on the hill
weeps
with the air
for her
as she strolls
along
alone
again
lost
somewhere
in the winter's mist
as her tears
trail her lips
she slips
back inside
her dreams
where he comes
to rescue her
from the loneliness
of darkness
it's there
time has stilled
beneath the pulse
of her heart
as she races
into the comfort
of his arms
and lingers
in his kiss
once again
