In the Grip of Shadows
As power climbs, shadows spread;
Greed takes root where trust has bled.
A gleaming crown may rule the lands,
Yet puppets bow to shadows' hands.
Faithful hands may wield the blade,
But shadows linger where trust is made.
A mighty throne will splinter, decay
When loyalty bends, and hearts betray.
When power devours, the truth is slain,
And lies take root through endless pain.
Ambition festers where souls are sold,
And greed ascends with Fingers cold.
The cost of trust, the weight of lies;
A kingdom crumbles when honour dies.
But shadows break, and light will rise;
The dawn ignites the darkened skies.
Though power swells, it cannot last;
Desires fade like echoes past.
And hearts will heal, as light reclaims;
Truth is the sun to shatter dark games.
