In the Garden of Poetry Soup

Sometimes, it’s just plain swell.
To sit in garden of Poetry soup.
Even when replies do not fly-in,
pell mell.

You make a huge mistake,
If you are here just to take.
Write because you like it!
Not because on top of a trophy, 
you must sit.

Nor chasing to get a POTD,
These are a gift that come to you!
So please get off your knees!
Stop so hard, trying to please.

Take a deep breath, be you, no
race to be the top replier.
We all have families, jobs,children,
challenges.

Sit with your family and true friends!
Warm your souls and chilled toes near
the warmth of a holiday fire!
This type of love is everlasting and it
never ends!

Christmas Blessings to you and yours..better to be in touch with God. Ask Him, is this a poem that raises humanity or drags it into a gutter! Absolutely true dear friend ! We are here to give vent to our feelings of joy and pain, to connect with people who have a penchant for poetry and enjoy reading the stream of thoughts flowing from our poet friends and not for a rat race for accolades or being at the top. So beautifully said !

VALSA..What eloquence,thank you. This is-no place trying to crush all other poets our feet. Nor jealousy so intense, we punish other poets by avoiding their POTDs as if it were skunk meat. If one is of a jealous nature, one better not be here. If you cut off friendships but refuse to clean it up, there are adult ways to complete a relationship. I just see many hurtful ways in progress. I find that sad. We are Bigger than that and time for-love and kindness. Soup me on what you think.. Respectfully, Pangie xx

Billl, we are on the same page. I know others may feel differently. I like poetry, sharing and respect. My own feeling is not to have PS be a race track. Life is competitive as is...peace? Yes. Love, Pangie xo

I think your share tells so much about you, a great and humble poet. Those two quaities are outstanding Aural poetry is more powerful than reading it,i had a chaplain poet read a poen of nine to me. I sat there in tears. Had no idea it had such currents of beauty in it.its quite an experience. Love, Panagiota xo

Todays goal is 100...Yesterday, 80 was accomplished. Had I not been at UC Davis, well they get you out of bed at Warp Speed. Had I not been allowed in their accelerated PT program, todaw would have been an impossibility. God blessed me. Pangie.

I think most of us here are simply for the joy of writing and communicating that to each other, Pangie. I know many people enjoy when they get POTD's, etc but I think it's human nature to feel good when you get attention. Hopefully not many are sitting around just wishing for trophies. They will be disappointed if that is the case. We just have to write and love doing it!

Twelve.do whatever works best for you. Structure to me is classical poetry at best. Ideas come from contests which is good. Leave it to me to be different. Apologies, but I do not follow. I prefer to listen to my own inner voice. Others, do as they please. Happy Holidays. Pangiexo

Not so Pangie, not worthless. Many times one's POV is a message to someone that seeking, and you're the messinger. Share your thoughts, just don't fall into the trap of valuing them over the thoughts of others. We just don't know others well enough to know what is (right or best) for them. Your thoughs and opinions are valueable to me. Write On! Bill

Hi Connie. Yes, doing way better. Most people are not walking as much as I am after femur surgery that well. I thank God for that gift and inspirational therapists.i am far from young))) They buy none of my excuses, hoping for 100 steps in a few hours. Let’s Roll is my new motto. Love, Pangie xo.
