In the Eyes of a Flower
I sit in the middle of a meadow,
Staring at the passing sky.
Tall, green blades surrounds me,
Gently moving from the light breeze
Suddenly, I am torn away from my home,
The place I grew up in for all of my years.
Flesh wraps around my body,
Strangling me.
I am passed to another as I lay there,
Slowly dying.
I am placed into a glass cage with others,
The meadow is gone,
The grass is gone,
The breeze is gone,
But the sky is still there.
I stare up at it and suddenly,
I am reminded of home in the meadow.
I am a flower.
