In the Ether of the Stars
petals
fall
into the pool
of questions in your eyes,
holding up my broken promise
like a candle
snuffed out by our past regrets.
We stumble in the dark...........
I bend to say I'm sorry,
but my spine denies the wisdom
on my lips,
I must seek new doors,
new stairs for climbing to
the stars,
to share this Autumn rain
with you
would be ill fated,
like the winds of chance
that brought
my world to yours.
Look for me down winding
hallways,
call me from the moonlit cliff
I shall not come to you again my love,
for I have cosmic answers
to attain,
Your sleepy hands
do well to weave
another's coat of pain,
I shall not pass this way again,
though dust of diamonds
twinkle in your eyes........
I hover somewhere
in the ether
of
the stars.
