In the Backstreets of My Mind Where Cobwebs Live
In the backstreets of my mind where cobwebs live,
from time to time.
I need to dust the cobwebs from past hurts off,
and send them on their way.
I need to dust the cobwebs from past pain off,
and say, good riddance to you this day.
I need to dust the cobwebs from the unforgiven off,
and say, I will not play with you again.
I need to dust the cobwebs from rudeness off,
and say, you be gone and stay away.
I need to dust the cobwebs from cutting words off,
and say, you can not hurt me any more.
As I dust the cobwebs off from the old,
seems like more are moving in each day.
My mind is filled with cobwebs,
maybe I need to call a cleaning service.
