A poem with a verse form consisting of three or more stanzas. It has a set pattern within the poem of repetitive lines. The pattern in each stanza is where the second and fourth line of each verse is repeated as the first and third of the next. The pattern changes though for the last stanza to the first and third line are the second and fourth of the stanza above (penultimate). The last line is a repeat of the first line of the poem and the third line of the first is the second of the last. No rhyme required.
"The sky prepares the sun for night
where drifting clouds are slowly steeping
in tepid pools of waning light",
and darkness descends like an ebony curtain.
Where drifting clouds are slowly steeping
luna peeks over the mountain peaks,
and darkness descends like an ebony curtain
across the velvet velour of time and space.
Luna peeks over the mountain peaks
rising to the allure of the stars
across the velvet velour of time and space,
splayed out like sparkling diamonds.
Rising to the allure of the stars
fireflies signal for love on the wing,
splayed out like sparkling diamonds
or fairy trails made of pixie dust.
In tepid pools of waning light
rising to the allure of the stars
splayed out like sparkling diamonds,
the sky prepares the sun for night.
