now tethered to dreams unhooked from the day suspended with e a s e above my own milky way I surrender my thoughts let them drift & swirl my armour removed reveals just a tired little girl no recollection of youth or of such a safe space leave me blanketed in flowers dressed in ribbons and lace for morning will come disappear delicate cocoon and I fear I'll never again be healed by the light of the moon so please let me sleep guard with gentle gaze so that I wake beautifully rested bathed in sunny morning rays

Di11y, A lovely poem about feeling good and relaxed. The part about a tired little girl seems wonderful as it reflects simplicity of life and humble desires for happiness. Your kindness shows. It's nice!!

I love this artist as there's always a few layers of interest to her work to help draw out a poem. I was falling asleep writing this one, so the feeling just permeated the poem :) thank you for your kind words :)

Dear DD I am surprised youv used this artpiece for inspiration! I had this on one of my communities as a picture prompt and received so many brilliant entries! N yours fit the artwork so perfectly! I really love the way youv arranged your lines and the subtle manner youv touched the elements of the picture.. i absolutely love the alliterations too, as if they just flowed, especially love “leave me blanketed in flowers dressed in ribbons and lace” theres a feminine aching woven within, any reader would want to just see you rest and sleep and wake up to sunny rays. Also reminded me of a song, do give it a listen “ coheed and cambria , wake up” its a beautiful song! Not many might know. Thought of that as i read this and now i might go listen to it! Thank you Ink, what a shame I wasn't in time for your prompt! I really like this artist, although I think each illustration actually comes with a poem but I think they are harder to track down and possibly as children's books. Ha I'm back in my hammock in the garden, so those wanting to see me sleep will find it easier lol I think they probably are more fascinated with my choices in boots :) I'll check out the song whilst I sway :) thank you for the lovely comment
