now tethered to dreams
unhooked
from
the
day
suspended with e a s e
above my own milky way
I surrender my thoughts
let them
drift & swirl
my armour removed
reveals
just a tired little girl
no recollection of youth
or of such a safe space
leave me blanketed in flowers
dressed in ribbons and lace
for morning will come
disappear delicate cocoon
and I fear I'll never again
be healed
by the light
of the moon
so please let me sleep
guard with gentle gaze
so that I wake beautifully rested
bathed in
sunny
morning
rays
