In Memories of You
I gave my heart,
I gave my soul
oh valley green and true
doin’ the best I can,
but it seemed
not good enough for you.
I tried so hard,
so hard to please
the decision to leave
the outlook was bleak,
in dire straits
another life to seek.
I slipped away,
degrees in passing
on that epic journey
glanced at foreign lands,
to the end of the earth
paradise and golden sands.
Many years have passed by
it was the ultimate conclusion.
Yet! Am I still a dreamer
maybe still a fool?
When my mind is heavy
in memories of you.
