In an Instant

a flat line, until mechanically shaken the instant travels - transposes into reality received as a beating heart as all that is after thought - is given entity I exist at the end of this rope: flesh, blood ~ a touch of electricity flashes of consciousness a lifetime of memories ideas revved up to play out ignited brain waves jump rope with the heart philosophically speaking curtailed, awareness has a crushing weight cruelly unaccounted for, dampening flight I await correction of composition the reverberations of infinity to kindly one day skip between transgressions mechanics are bold and cruel; electricity, a vixen and me - watching on something else entirely frayed - at the spliced second where the end begins my energy equating to time and stalling

What a marvelous, poem, DD. Your poetic talent and artistry are on full display in the depth of your philosophic expression and metamorphic images. Congratulations on your win! Blessings. May your rope be long and have a large knot at the end.

Thank you! I try my best to come up with something unique for Craig's contests. I have to dismiss my first 10 ideas then hope it's not too abstract haha

Dear DD, I love it when words pulse with such raw intensity, creating the fragile dance of existence with striking precision. I could feel your lines pulse like a heartbeat. I could tell it was a delicate balance of thought, energy, and inevitability. How haunting and beautifully crafted. Winter Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Such unique wordplay here dear dd, i love the way youv written this and delivered this and also made me think of the inertia law of newton. With lines such as “ a flat line, until mechanically shaken” and also “ I await correction of composition” your wordplay here is subtle yet impactful. Profound and powerful, and has a mysterious touch to it and your arrangement of lines are so creative! I absolutely loved reading this gem! Best wishes for the contest. Sending you light always
