In 2050 If I Am Still Alive
In 2050,
If I am still alive,
Oh what pleasure will I derive,
From living in a world that has zero waste,
Zero carbon for me to taste,
And how my eyes will water,
At the sight of lakes free of toxic matter.
In 2050,
If I am still alive,
I hope those whose vision was for zero to strive
Will still be around to show us around ground zero
And everything else they said in 2050 would be at zero.
But that is all in the future,
And right now I cannot picture,
It going to plan,
With all that is currently hitting the fan.
