Pure socialism has never succeeded, though many countries have tried it. Usually, a great blend of social values with republican rule is a nice blended mix. A powerful, unsettling piece. Of course those people who say socialism 'never works,' ignore the rural electrification projects of the 1930s, the electric power they themselves are getting, the roads they drive on, the schools their kids attend - the nonprofit things we all enjoy - that's socialism in a working form.
