Impostor Blossom

She feels fake, a skilled adult impostor constantly fostering a false decorum. Her life stirs in seasons of autumn but her grown-up has yet to blossom.

You hit the nail on the head - that's what you have - poetry adrenaline - she musn't be in too much of a hurry to blossom, there is still Spring, Summer and then the unmistakable but inevitable Winter of life! Hugs, Jenny.

I really love the way this free verse feels like a rhyme, I always enjoy internal rhymes in a free verse, I guess because it gives a musical feel to what normally feels like conversational quality. Well done!!

I agree - I cannot resist 'near rhymes' in free verse or frequently penning them as internal rhymes. Just writing 'conversational quality', as you aptly referred to it, offers no challenge, no kick for my poetry adrenaline. Two visits, I did something right, huh? All the best ... CayCay

Caycay, thanks for reading my latest poems. I am going a bit late through all these awesome wins in Greg's last contest. So glad to see you on the list.

yeah, the Doors were a bit too weird for me. But I sure liked some of his more popular songs.
