Imperfect Creation
She stood on the stage trying to be everything, everyone wanted her to be
As her talents fell with the curtain, because she just wanted to be herself
To play the music true to her, without being graded for every part of it
To freely play her sports or create without endless expectations to meet
Years later, she peeled away the idea of perfection, planted in her mind
She found her own way to do what she loves, as each day unfolds more
She broke free from everyone who had set standards she could never reach
--- Overall it was love that was conditional ---
Her path to freedom was paved with acceptance of herself and the truth
--- Empowered by faith with imperfect creation ---
