Imperceptibly

Very gently... You eased yourself out of my life There was no drama No cataclysmic event To mark the passage Just an imperceptible retreat Like the slow ebb of a tide You left behind The dry sand of my heart And one solitary figure… Looking longingly at the sea Wondering...wondering How did your love Ever get that far away From me? Really, Harry? A magnet? That is such a sweet thing to write. I appreciate it so much. Life is full of sadness, Harry. This poem testifies to that, but then again....when the tide is out, we get to build sandcastles and pretend.

The thing about waves is that they return even when you think they have gone. Sometimes the moon is pulling them in a different direction. Great poem Eileen. Good night

Thanks, Richard. I've missed hearing from you. The moon is naughty, then and should be given a talking to that will make her realize she needs to play fair! ;) Over stretching the analogy perhaps. The glorious month of May is upon us! It's a special month, in many way! ;) Have a great day when you wake up, my friend. :)

We just drift apart sometimes, the sea comes in but always has to go out, is just a case of how long you hang on together, if the anchors firm that helps. Lovely sympathetic poem Eileen, Take care, Richard

Richard....so so good to hear from you. :) Well, every single type of relationship has its ups and downs...it's true. I just hate that aspect. That's why I made mention of Paul. He was constantly focused and on fire. I'm all for cataclysmic events. At least there is passion involved. Indifference I HATE! Have you read my poem Hate Me? It is on this theme. Hugs

I think the painfully slow loss of feelings hurts worst than the "cataclysmic event". You feel yourself draining away when that happens... it really is like the tide. It's inevitable that the tide will come in, but it happens so slow we don't pay much attention to it. Another stunning poem!

One does not know what one has until it's gone. On the other hand, one can suddenly know what they have within themselves when another is finally gone. Beautifully written!

Deep thoughts there, Drake. Yes...you are right, of course. It's just that I like swimming around in waves! :)
