I'M Back With Chair To Share
Listen to poem:
A waiter I be, and so you cannot sit with me.
But I can stand beside your chair, Oui Oui!
While you share your order with me, as taster
So hand me a fork and spoon, I will be your savory waiter.
I don't often taste the rain-chokes and fiddle-head roots
Nor the toppings of cassava and shark-flower shoots
So load up my fork with tasty, tantalizing bits
And feed me like a baby, while you in your chair sits.
Yum, that salad of roots and shoots tastes nice.
Now, give me a taste of the sardines with rice.
Wow! so fresh and spicy, so tasty, so fancy!
Can I have a seconds? I know it's a bit chancy?
Now to taste the sweet cranberry ice
Which I confess I taste in secret. A vice!
Ah! It is so nice to taste it open room,
Without fear of cook seeing me swoon with spoon
Thanks for the taste and offer of chair
I've enjoyed your company and flair
The foods on the house, so no need for a tip
So serve the wine and coffee, I'd love a sip!
