Illumination
Dear sad and weary earth
Where darkness floods rebirth;
Grief cries in guilty strains down here
As cryptic moments fear.
Dear grounds of sullen sphere
Where pain engulfs so near;
Light seems brief in times misty dark
As dying embers spark.
Dear distant realm that marks
The squalid woes most stark;
Remove the veil that shields the light
To reach that lofty sight.
Dear tragic tale of night
Let grace bring yet true might;
Cast off phantoms of dread that hum,
Let faith address outcome.
Dear wonder of sweet psalm
The peace of grace now farms;
Glimpse illumination of soul,
Observe true love make whole.
