Ik zie jou - I see you
In stille uren voor de nacht
in grote lijnen plaats maakt
voor de dag,
Zie ik jou. In sepia tinten
vale ruiten als spoorlijnen
vervaagd zonder spoorbomen
zonder treinen
Zie ik jou. Iemand die ik
nooit had maar altijd heb
Terwijl de zon haar vleugels
spreidt en droogt na een
vochtige nacht
Zie ik jou binnen in mij
zonder gezicht,
maar altijd een gevoel
Zie ik jou

The silent hours before night
make place for the day
in a way
I see you. In sepia colours
vague railroads
without barriers
without trains
I see you. Someone I
never had, but always have
While the sun spreads her wings
and dries them after a
moist night
I see you within me
faceless
but always felt
I see you

I am not going to send this in for a contest, but I still wanted to post this. It's a poem I wrote in Dutch a few years ago. I lost most of my poetry in Dutch, only a few remain.
The fun is that the notes here are in the Poetry window, the poem itself is in the notes window. That's because you can use tables there, and not here :)
