If Only Was Lonely
If only was lonely, after what if jumped off a cliff
Saying: "My regret score is too low, I must give it a go."
Dared deed done and dusted
It was game over, own goal,
Score: one down cliff to nil.
So friends met to lament what if,
With thoughts of what might have been, and if only.
His tombstone was inscribed: "Get over it, I dared it with a cliff"
Regret and remorse met in wake
To drown what might have been, with too many toasts,
and liberal serves of hot unscrambled eggs on toast.
Taking risks begets regrets if you fail.
Taking a chance has remorse in its tail
Fate a letter pre-posted in the mail,
Be in it to win it, piles debt in hope chest's grail.
