If Only

If Only If only we could love not hate. Unite, not divide. Stand together to make our country, The best it can be. Restore fair law and order. Return to respect our neighbor. The insults casted, the anger fueled Cannot help us in these times. If only we could help each other Day to day, one bit at a time. Instead of a war with each other. Let there be freedom, united today. Let there be justice for what stands in our way. We can, we must and we will put differences aside. For the freedom so many fought for and died. Heidi Sands

Wonderfully written and I absolutely agree. Everyone should read this poem. I also think if you tried to publish in the Boston review or Scoundrel Times you have a good shot. There both publish very political oriented poems. I think your poem would fit well in them.
