If I Were a Raindrop

Title: If I were a raindrop If I were a raindrop, I would love to feel the tenderness of the breeze, Of the wind blowing against my tiny raindrop face. And as I fall from my stormy cloud, I see the earth coming near. I feel my heart drop! And I close my eyes. Plop! I landed on a beautiful, deep red flower. I slide down a petal, on to the leaves and down to the ground. The ground grabs me! And as I sink, I accept my horrible fate…. Just as I feel my beautiful life coming to an end. Something magical happens! The flower’s roots slurp me up into the stem. Back up into the deeper than red flowers petals. Where the warm sun pulls me out, up back into the sky. Anke Pretorius 2021

Excellent expression, Anke. I enjoyed your poem very much. Ah, the recycling of the raindrop!
