If I Had To Choose

If I had to choose between loving you And breathing my very last breath I would use this opportunity To say I love you This is how deep my feelings are for you To the ends of the earth I would go To find you again if we ever were separated I'm a mere mortal trying to explain My love for you is on a higher plain One that's reserved for the ultimate lovers Those that have discovered The true meaning of this emotion The reward for making the journey through life With its many tragedies and pitfalls So now you see my love If I had to choose between loving you And breathing my last breath I would use my last breath To say I love you

Wow, Jack. What a wonderful statement about true love! I cherish this poem for it echoes so much of how I feel about my hubby. Although he's still with me, I would use my breath to say I love you. I can't begin to understand losing one's spouse, but your expression of love is deep and timeless. I'm sure she hears your words even now and feels your love. A bit teary-eyed after reading this one. Faving it too, Sara
