If I Forget

Try not to get angry if I forget Something is happening inside my head I know I'm not stupid, not going mad It's that my memory is getting bad. I try very hard to think things all through And know it's very annoying for you Please be gentle and do try to be kind It's truly not me, just my state of mind. I'm not unique, it is nothing that’s new And this could easily happen to you There's no way to stop the ageing process So let's live in love and sweet tenderness Knowing that on each other we can depend Until the day our life comes to its end.

Thank you Deb, it’s just one of those things we have to put up with. As long as we can continue to write poetry we’ve still got our sanity… Berylx

This is something l tell my husband. These days l tend to forget. At the same time he is very alert. Aging is difficult when we lose our original faculties. Congratulations dear Beryl on your POTD.

I completely agree Beryl, we should always be gentle and kind. In these moments that you're experiencing with aging, and of course, in life. Your thoughts caress gently around me and my heart. Congratulations on you words being chosen as Poem of the Day. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

I’m sorry to hear your memory is not as good as it once was Beryl, but hey you still managed to knock out a wonderful POTD, there are meds that can help, and even more promising ones coming on line soon, so hopefully they can stop or even reverse this memory loss, I wish you well, congratulations! Dear, Beryl, you brought a tear to my eyes today. My grandmother, mother-in-law and several cousins had Alzheimer’s. Now that I am that grandparent age I find somethings come a little harder. I loved your poetic reality and it is so deserving POTD! Blessings, Dear Beryl, Daniel

Hi Sara, thank you for those comforting words. I find that when I’m writing poetry there’s no problem. It’s when I’m out on my own, I have to think where I’m going. My hubby always writes me a shopping list so I don’t forget what I’m going out for, he’s insisting I see the doctor, I’ve promised I will…Beryl
