I'D Like To Help You --
She follows orders at the bank
dots her i's and crosses her t's
whether it makes sense or not --
She knows who she has got to please
It's not the customer, that's for sure
for it's crystal-clear that if it were
She could jeopardize her job and pension
adding to her work's inherent tension
So, she purses her lips throughout the day
hoping, sincerely, that she needn't say
I'd like to help you, but I simply can't
I must follow orders at the bank
