I Wonder If He Knows

I wonder if he knows He now lives with strangers in a home His family are not there He lives there all alone I wonder if he knows She is no longer by his side She made the hardest decision Filled with uncertainty and guilt she cries I wonder if he knows How much their life's have changed That there is no going back It will never be the same I wonder if he knows ……

I wonder if they know, each time I visit an assisted living home for the elderly, Deb. I think they know in their heart or in the spirit. Physical, I don't that they know in the way we normally think of knowing. Excellent poem and a subject most will deal with at some point in their lives. It touched my heart, sweet Deb. Hugs, Bill

“ it will never be the same” sigh that hits so deep for me dear debx, what a poignant and evocative write this is, soul hitting really. Sometimes all thats left is memories, and we wonder if they would know, leaving them in a place wher they would receiv proper care is all whats good for them, but the guilt is strong. Sad reality with no family in sight: this one made my heart heavy and tear up: felt your words so deeply, sending you light always

Dear Deb, Your wonderful poem delves into the depths of emotion with stark clarity. The weight of loss and change reverberates through each line, echoing the ache of separation and uncertainty. Your poetic words capture the complexities of human experience with such sensitivity. You give voice to the silent struggles we often carry. Thank you for sharing your heart so beautifully. - Blessings, Daniel

Oh my,,,,, this hurts... the flow is spot on, the pain is professed in every word. I relate too well to this , my father is having such difficulty now at 92, and my mom tries as hard as she can to keep things together ,,, as it slowly kills her... She refuses to consider a "home",,,they both have lived such full lives, but their time is short, and they want to be together till the end.... ahhhh. Yes. This piece hurts within my understanding.
