I Will Fight No More Forever

A failed American promise, Of freedom filled with hope. To return to his homeland, Was the center of his scope. A peaceful Idaho Nation, Signed a treaty with the U.S. Being sent to a reservation, Filled his heart with distress. In 1904 while still in exile, He died of a broken heart. It’s a shame that the U.S. Did not do their part. Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce, Didn’t fulfill his life’s endeavor. He left us with a final statement, “I will fight no more forever”. _______________________________________ A tribute to Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce Tribe.

You know it's actually a 10, not a 7. I can relate to the Governments never doing their part. The rich get richer and poor get poorer. I'd like to have been at Custards last stand and to have seen the look on his face when he was overrun by that wild bunch of Indians that just wanted what belonged to them, their own land that the Government Usurped. I'm part Cherokee as I'm sure dang near the whole populace has some Indian in their blood from their forefathers.

Chief Joseph was an very honorable man. It was very clear that he loved his people and that was his people came first, that's how it should be with our leaders no matter what color or race that they are. Great job Raul. -Caramel

I've always been interested in this famous person. Orson Scott Card wrote a great series which had some interesting stories in it based on Chief Joseph I believe. the "Alvin Mkaer Series?'

There is something about the white race and how we take dominion over every other without worry of the cost that makes me feel shame.
