I Wept For Her

The
light
was shining
on her leaves
just like any day.
The birds sang in their nests sweetly,
and squirrels ran up and down unaware of the doom.
I think trees have souls and I heard her screams of pain,
soon she lay shattered upon the ground dead and I wept for her.
