I Was Barely Asleep But I Knew Her

She floated past on a drifting cloud I was barely asleep, but I knew her She was the part of me who listens to our heart I tried to catch up to her, so I could add some advice She was too far away My efforts were futile I felt my forehead wrinkle Which rarely happens in this rem state, but it did Maybe she’ll come back tomorrow My logic said She’s never coming back! Hissed my negativity I relaxed, and let myself rest Not caring either way
