I Used To Catch Tadpoles At the Pond
I used to catch tadpoles at the pond

I used to catch
tadpoles at the pond
When I was still
very young
Because that was
just my way
of having fun
in the summer time
And when I was done
catching all of them
I would fill up
a jar with water
from the pond
And then I ran all
the way back home
Because I couldn’t wait
to put them
all in my aquarium
And then I would sit down
And I would watch them
for hours on end
as they began swimming around
And it was just so
amazing back then
But a part of me
really
couldn’t understand
How some of them
had
a leg or two on them
And the other ones had none
And at the time
I really felt sorry for them
Because I never thought
that they could change
But by summers end
I changed my mind
Because I had a better
understanding of everything
Because for twelve weeks
I had the opportunity
to watch every one of them
as they went through
a complete transformation
But I also knew that there time
living with me was done
So I gathered them all together
And I went back to the place
where I had found them
Because I knew that it was time
to return them to the pond
And after I released all of them
one by one
I started walking back home
feeling really good about everything
Because I was able to
save every one of them
But I also started thinking
about
everything that had happened
And that’s when
I began to realize
That the good Lord
Lets us see these things
To remind all of us
That he is the unique
creator of everything
