I Used To Catch Tadpoles At the Pond

I used to catch tadpoles at the pond Written By Dean Masciarelli December 13, 2009 (8:59pm) I used to catch tadpoles at the pond When I was still very young Because that was just my way of having fun in the summer time And when I was done catching all of them I would fill up a jar with water from the pond And then I ran all the way back home Because I couldn’t wait to put them all in my aquarium And then I would sit down And I would watch them for hours on end as they began swimming around And it was just so amazing back then But a part of me really couldn’t understand How some of them had a leg or two on them And the other ones had none And at the time I really felt sorry for them Because I never thought that they could change But by summers end I changed my mind Because I had a better understanding of everything Because for twelve weeks I had the opportunity to watch every one of them as they went through a complete transformation But I also knew that there time living with me was done So I gathered them all together And I went back to the place where I had found them Because I knew that it was time to return them to the pond And after I released all of them one by one I started walking back home feeling really good about everything Because I was able to save every one of them But I also started thinking about everything that had happened And that’s when I began to realize That the good Lord Lets us see these things To remind all of us That he is the unique creator of everything

An uplifting story to which many of us can relate, Dean. Children really have a good time catching those tadpoles and watching them grow into frogs. As a child, you were very wise to realize this was a miracle of God's creation. Great poem! Love, Carolyn
