Another sleepless night, so I decide to dress and wander down to the nearby beach. As I paddle in the ocean I’m soothed by the hypnotic rhythm of the tide and the sensation of gentle waves teasing my bare toes. I’m transfixed by silvery moonbeams dancing on the inky sea. magical moonbeams sea bathes in luna's spotlight cloudless sky enchants Moments Of Reflections - Haibun Poetry Contest Sponsored by Malabika Ray Choudhury 04/07/21

Charming and soulful, Jan. Words words paint an amazing story picture. One of the loveliest sights in all of nature is the allure of moonlight on an "inky" ocean. Congratulations on your win. Blessings and a hug! Prayers for a good nights sleep!

Beautiful prose! Loving the second line of the haiku part, too. The idea of the moon being the one doing the "bathing" rather than the sea is such a fascinating reversal.

On those rare and precious nights when the moon causes one to actually squint, magnified be the sea's reflection...or proverbially "read the newspaper". The sounds of the beach at night are unlike its daytime noises.

Such a great vision. In summer we enjoy the moon shining over the sea as we walk along the promenade.

Thanks so much John, we often go out at midnight and I love standing and watching the sea - but not paddling lol that's a deal of poetic licence:-) hugs Jan xx
