I Saw

I hear the steps of the storm dancing on its discarded clothes. The abandoned masks of the wind crashes through night to light. Today, I watch small birds bloom on the rim of a toppling maelstrom. I saw the moment, I saw life forgive its extinction. Of God’s grand compassion, I saw nothing, nothing more.
