I Remember When I Could Fly
I remember…
’till I was almost 25 those special nights
When I knew I could fly not just pretending
I’m sailing the skies
I remember when I could fly
I knew the sequence
When my countdown hushed to one the gates would open
And my night flight had begun
Across my memories
My journey blocked the Sun
touchdown was real
I met the Chosen One
I remember when I could fly
I look back now
And I remember the wind that sweet uplifting
Of a very special friend
He never leaves me though human I've become
sending me angels when goodness I flee from
I remember when I could fly
As I grow older
I dream about those nights
Can’t seem to sequence no countdown in sight
I pray my memories won't leave me in the night
'till I fold my wings and drift into the light
I remember when I could fly
I remember
...when I could fly
