I Once Met True Love
I once met true love in a pleasant dream,
a perfect little world as though it seemed.
Time stopped and stood still as our love we shared,
we then lost ourselves and all of life's cares.
This lovely bright star who pierced my dark,
she ruled over my night and held my heart.
Dressed in white light as she cast her sweet spell,
into those green eyes I then slipped and fell.
We danced the hours in midnight shadows,
we touched the dew and kissed in lush meadows.
Our souls intertwined and became as one,
we prayed for the night and cursed the sun.
When I awoke, the morn I could not face,
a lonely world, she left without a trace.
