I Need To Escape
I need to escape
Confusion sets in
North? South? East? West?
Where will I find my truth?
I listen to my soul, but there is no response.
She is tired of this journey.
Asleep or dead?
No matter.
I silence myself, listening, anticipating direction
Nothing
My heart is barely breathing.
I take my pulse to see if I am dead.
I might be.
Come on! An inner voice says.
Can we muster one drop of enthusiasm?
I turn to the right, staring into all-knowing shadows.
it.
I start to run without any direction at all.
I am breathing with puff breaths
Panting now, feeling slightly alive.
Forgetting for a minute that I have been
Trying to escape the monotony of me
