I know not why this path I’m on perplexes so before the dawn. But treading forth, one truth is known - that God sits firmly on the throne. For in his great and wise design, how well He knows this pain of mine; that searing grief of bitter loss - for Christ, His Son died on the cross. We know all things he’ll work toward the good of those who love the Lord - the very ones he calls his own, who worship him upon his throne.

Heidi, I'm touched by your fav and kind words. Thank you very much. As I mentioned in another reply, I wrote this for a friend whose husband had just taken his life. No words ever seem sufficient for such a shock, but we share a common faith in God, and thankfully, these words were a comfort to her. ~ John

Your pen flows well in the spiritual theme ... probably due to sincerity, that's where most poets excel, I find. That path you're on need not be so fearful if you know the one who is with you, to guide you, and to care for you.
