I Kept Quiet

I kept quiet so I could keep you, couldn’t bring myself to make a sound; The loudest silence is the truth, nothing feels like when you’re around; Bit my lip, because I had to try, insidious ‘appropriate protocol’; You’re such a blessing forced to lie, spinning me into a fierce free fall; Knots, doubled over with insane heart pounding like an explosive; Choking on this endless refrain, is there a word stronger than love? It means everything to see you happy; The loudest silence is the truth, wanted to shout; so damn badly; I kept quiet so I could keep you.
