I Had To Live

Wishes getting wilted we live, I pondered when, I had to live. Excuse nor alibi to live, In tune with my song I’d to live. The look of ash of my dreams made Me to dream more and I’d to live. Looking at few moments I lived, Forgetting it all I’d to live. Not just flowers and fruits alone, To know how thorns feel, had to live. Fuel that one day my pyre shall scorch, To lug that firewood I’d to live. Life’s lent to live, to find why, how, To sort right from wrong I’d to live. ___________________________________ Ghazal |18.12.2022| life, living Poet’s note: Once a person crosses the mark of 80, he tends to ponder a lot on life and death. Being a bit of a poet born late, I too was musing on the matter. This Ghazal was born of such stirrings.
