I Felt Fear

Haibun
Japanese form, pioneered by the poet Basho, and comprising a section of prose followed by haiku. The prose and haiku should work together to create an organic whole.

I can recall the day my mum taught me how to make a whistle; it was the same day dad came home from the war and we'd just met, but that memory haunts me, for it was also the first time I felt fear.
sons should love fathers war is a lonely mistress... fear cannot be loved
