I Feel Spring

I feel Spring hesitantly, delicately, leaving subtle
telltale fingerprints on dripping icicles.
Releasing sweet scents on the wings of a breeze
Her breath fills my lungs with fresh air.
I feel Spring playfully, tauntingly, ever so softly
blowing sensually upon my neck, toying with me.
The sky changes color, hosting hues of differing blues
as the melting snowflakes morph into streams.
I feel Spring's presence becoming motherly,
giving birth to the chirp of a cricket's forlorn trill.
Songbirds return to their favorite perch, and buds begin to
shadow trees in green stubble, defying Winter's clean-shaven look.
I feel Spring brazenly summoning showers
to enhance Her breathtaking beauty.
Colors of the rainbow decorate a plethora of flowers,
the birds build nests, the earth renews,
and Spring strips away all signs of Winter's white.
