I dream poetry

Sometimes, while half awake lying in bed I'm counting syllables on my fingers. Lines keep shapeshifting inside of my head, a fleeting poem that seldom lingers. A jumble of words begins lining up, forming a perfect poem, word by word. I'm an optimist with a half-full cup, but what once was crystal clear becomes blurred. In that twilight zone between wake and sleep, I can compose a poem in my mind. But it's gone as soon as I fall asleep, a lost treasure no one will ever find. I dream poetry; it's a part of me, and if I'm lucky, it always will be.

How lovely this is,and I can so relate to what you've written..If a thought comes in my mind and I don't jot it down there and then,it would be gone..so quick it fades away...Really enjoyed this.
