I Don't Know How To Love Him

Mary Magdalene
The Ballad I Don't Know How To Love Him sung by Yvonne Elliman, from Jesus Christ Superstar I don't know how to love him What to do, how to move him I've been changed, yes really changed In these past few days When I've seen myself I seem like someone else I don't know how to take this I don't see why he moves me He's a man, he's just a man And I've had so many men before In very many ways He's just one more Should I bring him down? Should I scream and shout? Should I speak of love? Let my feelings out? I never thought I'd come to this What's it all about? Don't you think it's rather funny? I should be in this position I'm the one who's always been So calm, so cool No lover's fool Running every show He scares me so I never thought I'd come to this What's it all about? Yet, if he said he loved me I'd be lost, I'd be frightened I couldn't cope, just couldn't cope I'd turn my head, I'd back away I wouldn't want to know He scares me so I want him so I love him so "Jesus Christ Superstar" 3/21/22

I still remember this moving and powerful film. The soundtrack is awesome and this song in particular guides us closer to enlightenment. Awesomeness dear friend! :)

The play musical is always shown or heard on Christmas time. I love the concept everything about it nothing explains Jesus the king of the Jews any better. Thank you BFF!

Being both a man and Gods only begotten child would cause confusion in the realm of mortal love. A very beautiful ballad indeed! Robert

I sense your overwhelming joy in knowing Him and your deep desire to love Him as Mary Magdalene loved Him... ! When we meet Him, a change comes over us that we cannot explain ! An emotionally charged poem Anaya !

What a beautiful thought Valsa. His love; divine, emaculate, omnipresent. This is truly a beautiful melody...the sheet music above, for those who play instruments! Thank you, Valsa

Good one Anaya. Bible teaches men like me: Father God is the father of every woman, even "bad women." I have seen the latter shine pure as untouched teens, because they cried out to Jesus or prayed a poem as Yours above. Islam does not have a concept of live from God to humans, only JUSTICE. Forgiveness is just a word for Hindus & Muslims ... We know it is process, begins in admitting we failed a HIGHER law ( God's or community standard). Sorry I went on ... Shalom shalom Dear

One of my favorites from JS,S. I have played this hundreds of times, even as a prelude for church services. No one ever criticized it. It is a gorgeous melody! I have always included it in recitals, too.

How cool is that! Milton this is an experiment...take me away from wars and make it all about JESUS!
