I Do Need You So Lord But Why

I do need you so Lord, but why? Tears fall and this is why I ask Falling in a dark chasm,I know I can whisper “help” and you hear and respond. So before all goes hellish black you dry my eyes, stand me back on my feet I do need you so Lord, but why? For in you is found the taste of tongue, a rainbow of colors, the air I breathe and all the passion life brings. I do need you so Lord, but why? So my inside and outside eyes are open, for clarity of thought and introspection. You teach me truth, right and wrong. I do need you so Lord, but why? When lives of loved ones end and I look to you with swollen eyes, you show me your side, hands and feet and tell me how the story really ends. I do need you so Lord, but why?
